A book about the ‘banal and everyday’ and forgotten art on the streets, how I found a very
recognizable Islamic geometric pattern on a gutter lid near Finchley Road station in London, and
became obsessed with finding others. Taking almost 60-70 images with 35mm slide film and then
cross processing them, editing them down to 11 this book came about as an idea of how something
sacred in another religion or culture can be found on the streets unnoticed and constantly being
trampled on by passersby not recognizing its historical and cultural reference.
